• Metrics aren't important (and they can be harmful)

Google doesn ’t want a website owner to be able to artificially climb its SERPs. Rather, Google wants websites to climb the ranks only when they are genuinely valuable and popular with the audience. It wants to see natural, organic links that you haven’t paid for and it wants to see deep, relevant and interesting content. Good content will also naturally improve search rankings by attracting more backlinks and social shares. You don't need statistics to show you that in the past few years the online mobile market has exploded, overtaking desktops years ago. When building your content, it’s important to remember to give the crawlers enough to bite into. A hundred words typically isn’t enough copy for these crawlers to read and understand what the content is about. And this content shouldn’t be stuffed with keywords either, as some search engines (as you’ll learn in later sections) punish websites for keyword stuffing. What Are The Most Important Factors SEO Marketers Consider?

Answer the questions of your potential customers with regards to link building

To ensure the best web browsing experience possible, the software engineers at Google created a search ranking algorithm that thinks like Internet users. Flash, undoubtedly tempts attraction, but it has the bad side too. Flash is like Hulk- Big and Bulky! Flash objects are famous for overloading and even crashing web pages. Another loophole with flash is that it is incompatible with mobile devices. The fact remains that knowledge of one’s domain and the tools out there is vital to success. Duplicate content is content that appears in more than one place online. When there are multiple pieces of identical content, it's difficult for search engines to decide which version is more relevant to a given search query. If you still think you want to tackle the SEO for your website, remember to take the time to find out how people are searching.

Run Tests and Set Up Control Groups

The timeframes tend to vary for experimentation purposes, but SEO is to longevity as growth hacking is to brevity. Wikipedia actually has a dedicated page listing every article with a dead link. It could be a good starting point. High-quality content means faultless spelling. It’s true that people often misspell words they type into search bars. Some the of not-so-recommended techniques advise to optimize a website also for misspelled keywords so that users who are not good at grammar could easily find it. Anchor text diversification is all about not having the text links. In the beginning, things move slow and it feels like you are just shouting into the void with no return. Most tools you use to build websites make it super easy to add important image tags, like alt tags. Both search engines and humans (those who look at a web page’s code) can read the information in image tags. It’s just one more way to include relevant info on your website.

Difficult things about search engine spiders

We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: " Web users are busy and they expect to find the answers to their wants, needs and questions immediately. If your site is confusing and hard to navigate, people will leave and never come back." If content can be reproduced without much effort, then it is most likely not valuable, and if it is not valuable then it is a waste of your readers’ time. SEO is all about ranking high on search indexes, which can’t happen without you creating new, quality content. As you create new pages, you create opportunities for new rankings and more reach. This, in turn, leads to more keywords you can rank for. Remember, though, that quantity should never trump quality. Better content gets you better rankings. Write more than one time for each website. Build a relationship. Put effort into an ongoing collaboration. Otherwise, it will be obvious you are writing only to build backlinks. There are a few things that feed into this but I think the most important ones are: that there are hundreds of different ranking factors that Google has and Google has every incentive to not be public about what those ranking factors are.

Maybe SERPs will be a thing of the past

It has long been understood that Google’s ranking algorithm is complex (by design). Take a look at sites like the BBC and you ’ll see that they have huge and highly diverse links profiles. They’ll have links from massive sites but also tiny, spam sites. When a site is truly successful, it will lose control over all of its links. Thus, it can actually be useful to make your links profile as diverse as possible. JavaScript can modify the look, content and behaviour of a page so JavaScript errors can cause pages to be displayed incorrectly and break interactive elements. Various HTML elements can be altered to target certain keywords to improve a page's ranking. First in your SEO plans need to be the keywords that you are optimizing for.

Metrics aren't important (and they can be harmful)

The point is, don’t limit your thinking to only “ranking” for your main keywords. That figure has risen by 4% over the past few months alone, and it continues to grow on an almost daily basis. More people are using mobile devices than computers to search the web. Creating content that serves a need is the best way to improve web ranking. There are many other items which can affect a website’s search ranking, including all of the following: keyword research and implementation, back links, link building, content, directory submission, competitor analysis, optimization both on and off of the website in question, and still more variables.
